Golden Globes in Review

Last night were the Golden Globe awards and as usual my interest in them was purely about the fashion. There was lots of sparkle, shine and color. I love that the gowns were feminine and pretty and that there wasn’t anything too kooky. I feel like all these lovely, talented ladies really hit the mark and no one was overdone or tried too hard. Here are my picks and in no particular order, it really was hard to chose…there were so many gorgeous looks.

Alicia Vikander in Louis Vuitton. I absolutely love this look! Simple and super feminine with the little ruffle; the simplicity carried through in her hair, make-up and jewelry is perfection.

Jennifer Lawrence in Dior. Gorgeous in red, clean lines and again simple hair, make-up and jewels-just right!

Cate Blanchett in Givenchy Haute Couture. One Word: STUNNING!

Kate Bosworth in Dolce & Gabbana. Wow! I would love to wear this fabulous pink, sparkly gown. Elegant but with a sense of fun.

Sarah Hay in Marchesa. Glamorous and soft, she looks almost ethereal. And I love the color with her hair and skin color-a perfect match.

Olivia Palermo in Delpozo. Leave it to Olivia to make this dress into a Red Carpet worthy look; unexpected for sure but looks amazing. She never disappoints.

* I would say my only thumbs down was Katie Perry, sorry Katie but that Elvira hair just didn’t do it and the dress looked a bit sloppy.

 

 

CFDA Award Glamour

Last night the CFDA awards were held at Lincoln Center in New York City, and the awards that are sometimes referred to as the Oscars of fashion did not disappoint. Here are my favorites…

Oscar Worthy

As someone who loves fashion, Oscar night is always exciting and last night was no exception; at least fashion wise. I do need to say a few things first before I give my fashion opinion…Boyhood, could someone please explain all the hubbub?! Ok, it took 12 years to make but I found it painfully boring and couldn’t finish watching it. I know several other people who felt the same way. And the Oscar themselves…kinda boring. I fell asleep. Missed Lady Gaga.

Now for the fun stuff, the dresses, hair, make-up and jewelry! The statement necklaces were beautiful, the red gowns were lovely but the wavy bob I am not a fan. One more thing I wasn’t crazy about were the bandage type dresses worn by Jennifer Aniston and Zoe Saldana. Don’t get me wrong, they looked stunning just not Oscar worthy. But what is Oscar worthy? I guess it depends on who you’re asking. These are my picks…

A Review: Golden Globes 2015

Red, white and sparkle all over! And all of it absolutely beautiful! I have to say that there were no misses at last nights Golden Globe Awards, only hits. I loved the feminine, ladylike looks and the hints of old hollywood glamour like Amal Clooney’s white long gloves. My absolute favorite look of the night was Sienna Miller; just perfect from head to toe!

Just perfect in Miu Miu, also one of my favorites.

Emma Stone in Lanvin jumpsuit-fabulous, I love a great pair of pants, especially with a sparkly top and a big bow!

Jenna Dewan-Tatum in Carolina Herrera strapless with beautiful draping.

Dakota Johnson in 50 shades of stunning sparkle!

Only J Lo can pull off a sexy look like this, not my usual but I have to say…she looked amazing!

Prince! Best surprise presenter ever! He just doesn’t age and that smile…

And the Fashion Oscars go to…

Last night was a big night not only for the movie industry but for the fashion industry as well because let’s face it, lots of people watch the Oscars just to see what the stars are wearing. I love to watch the shows that highlight the red carpet fashions and I really thought last night that just about everyone looked fabulous, not too many misses. Here are my favorites…

Chrissy Teigen Looking Radiant in a Printed Floral by Monique Lluillier-gorgeous color combo.

And now for the best dressed men. Men don’t have quite the same options as women but they can still make their mark and here are the three that I think hit the mark perfectly!

Pharrell in an Oscar First with a Lanvin Tuxedo with Bermuda Shorts…I think he rocked it!

Matthew McConaughey in Smart White Tuxedo from Dolce & Gabbana-love the white jacket with the black tie and vest.

Kevin Spacey Looking Anything but Spacey in his Tuxedo by Burberry-blue and black is one of my favorite color combos.
